Configuring Cisco ACI Bridge Domain Subnets

Incorporating Bridge Domain and Tenant context into NetFlow data significantly amplifies the value derived from network traffic analysis. By enriching flow records with these attributes, organizations can gain deeper insights into application behavior, network performance, and security posture.

This EDFN agent build the lookup database with the following fields:

  • IPv4 address
  • IPv4 address mask
  • Bridge Domain name
  • Tenant name

To configure integration with Cisco ACI Bridge Domain data, on the left navigation bar select Modules, open Network Conversations Monitor set by clicking on ..., and click on Module configuration 10062: Network Conversations Monitor. Scroll down to EDFN Agent ACI BD subnets and click on it.

On this screen you can configure the following parameters:

Cron Schedule

The list of Bridge Domain subnets to Tenant mapping is updated on cron schedule set here.

APIC URI

The base URL of the APIC controller used to identify and access specific resources within the ACI fabric. For example:

https://<APIC_IP_ADDRESS>

The Agent will make a request using https://<APIC_IP_ADDRESS>/api/class/fvSubnet.json

Username and Password

Credential used to authenticate access to the APIC controller.
